JAMESTOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 13, 2022) – Three persons were hospitalized in a two-vehicle crash in southeast Ottawa County on Tuesday evening.
According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Chris Koster, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to Byron Road at 8th Avenue around 7:35 PM. That’s where a westbound vehicle, driven by a 25-year-old Hudsonville man at a reportedly high rate of speed, apparently drove through a stop sign and struck a southbound vehicle, driven by a 43-year-old Byron Center woman. The force of the collision caused both vehicles to roll over.
Both drivers, along with a nine-year-old girl in the woman’s vehicle, were pinned in and had to be extricated by rescuers, with the man flown to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital, while ambulances took the woman and the girl to Butterworth and DeVos Children’s hospitals, respectively.
No names were disclosed as the crash remains under investigation.
