Cal was a man of many loves. He enjoyed gardening, biking, and a good walk downtown Holland. He was an avid reader and visited the library often. He was passionate about travel, especially by train internationally. He loved his dog; Piper and he will be greatly missed by his extended family.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Betty and Paul Van Loo; brother, Jerry Kempker; sister-in-law, Gail Kempker; brother-in-law, Wayne Dykhuis; niece, Brenda Hertz; and nephew, Scott Van Loo.
He is survived by his sister, Susie Dykhuis; brother Dave Kempker; nieces and nephews, Randy Dykhuis, Karen (Bob) VanMeeteren; Mike Hertz, John (Kris) Kempker, Jim (Stacey) Kempker, Jackie (Kevin) Dannenberg, Jennifer Kempker, Julie Kempker, Joe Kempker, Doug Van Loo, Rick Van Loo, Dan (Melissa) Van Loo, Michelle (Kyle) Lampen, Heather (Matt) Scholten.
Visitation with the family is 1:00-3:00 pm on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland, MI 49423.
Funeral services are at 3:00 pm the same day also at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home.
Burial to take place at Riverside Cemetery.
