CROCKERY TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 8, 2022) – A 65-year-old Rockford man was hospitalized in a two-vehicle crash near Nunica on Friday afternoon.
First responders were dispatched to the junction of Cleveland Street (M-104) and M-231 around 1:30 PM. That’s where the eastbound motorist apparently drove through a red light and his SUV collided with a southbound box truck, according to witnesses at the scene and further investigation by Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies.
The SUV driver was pinned in his vehicle and had to be extricated by rescue workers. He was taken to Mercy Hospital. The extent of his injuries wasn’t immediately disclosed. The box truck driver, a 31-year-old Grandville man, was not hurt.
The incident remains under investigation.
