Socorro Rivera (Davila), age 81, of Holland, went peacefully to be with her Savior Jesus on April 4, 2022.

Socorro was born in Cuidad Juárez, Mexico on May 13, 1940 to Maria de Jesus and Isidoro Davila. As a young adult, Socorro, was called to be an evangelist and was ordained by Iglesia Cristo Misionera. She traveled preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout North, Central, and South America and served several years as a missionary in South Texas in the early 1980s. Socorro was a compassionate person that loved to pray with and help others. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, and we will miss her dearly but take comfort in knowing that she is with Jesus.

Socorro was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Rivera in 2019.

Socorro is survived by: her children, Zulein and Mario Sanchez of Zeeland, MI, Arlein Beall of Holland, MI, Charlein and Fredrik Giertsen of Oslo, Norway, Juan Mander and Natasha Rivera (Vander Ark) of Holland, MI, nine beloved grandchildren, and six beautiful great-grandchildren.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, April 7th, from 5-9 at Lakeshore Memorial Services 11939 James St. Holland, MI 49424. A funeral service will be on Friday, April 8th at 1 pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services, followed by entombment at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
