POLKTON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 4, 2022) – An early morning one car accident injures the driver. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash on Leonard/Church Street in Polkton Township just after 6 a.m. Monday morning.
Initial reports of the accident stated a female in the car was unresponsive with utility poles and lines down in the roadway. Deputies say the female was driving a vehicle east on Leonard and ran off the road striking utility poles and a large landscape rock. The driver regained consciousness prior to deputies arrival.
The driver was injured and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Leonard Street was closed west of 68th Avenue as Consumers Energy responded to deenergize the power lines and reset the poles.
