LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The state Department of Health and Human Services is requesting proposals that would help reduce the amount of ethnic and racial disparities in the juvenile justice system in Michigan.
According to officials at MDHHS, the proposals must identify racial and ethnic disparities exist within their jurisdiction, and must also propose activities to address the disparities at arrest.
The department is set to award one agency over $436,000 over a two-year period to initiate programs that would address the disparity issues.
