HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 31, 2022) – A 19-year-old man on the run from the law across the lake found out that there was no safe sanctuary for him in Holland.
Amaree Goodall was wanted by authorities from Beloit in connection with a shooting outside of Beloit Memorial High School following a basketball game on January 29th. A 19-year-old man, Jion Broomfield, lost his life as a result of the incident, which was the third homicide in that southeast Wisconsin community in a four-day span, and although there were reportedly dozens of people at the scene at the time, investigators were frustrated over the lack of cooperation from witnesses.
According to Holland Department of Public Safety Captain Bob Buursma, Beloit police reached out with information that Goodall may be at an apartment unit near the Holland Heights area. On Wednesday, detectives were able to spot the suspect and apprehended him without incident.
Goodall was lodged in the Ottawa County Jail pending an extradition hearing in Holland District Court.
