Karl Tubergan, 69, of Zeeland, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
Karl was born in Zeeland on April 6, 1952, to Leonard and Juliet (Koops) Tubergan. He graduated from Holland Christian High School in 1970 and later married Von Kerkstra in 1973. Karl worked in construction and owned and operated Tubergan Concrete Contracting. Karl and Von are longtime members of Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church where he served several terms as a deacon and participated in many mission projects. Karl enjoyed his time on the golf course. Karl also enjoyed classic car shows and his ’57 Chevy and ‘81 Corvette. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother David Tubergen, and in 2010 his granddaughter Grace Olivia Tubergan.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Von, their children and grandchildren: Heather and Corey De Vries (Brooke, Kenzie, Ashley), Brandon and Kristin Tubergan (Jack, Emily); his siblings: Nancy and Jay Tucker, Ben Tubergen, Julane and Mark De Boer; in-laws: Joan Kortman, Wayne and Lea Kerkstra, Kirby and Denise Kerkstra, Shirlene and Mike Klumpstra, Dale and Rhonda Kerkstra; and many extended family members.
A funeral service to honor the faith and life of Karl Tubergan will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church, 4055 112th Ave., Holland MI 49424. The Rev. Mark Vande Zande will officiate. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Friday, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Interment will be in Zeeland (Felch Street) Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Zeeland Christian School or Spectrum Hospice.
