Alma Beltman, age 88 of Zeeland, passed into glory at her home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. Alma worked for over 20 years at Huizenga’s Stop and Shop, and was well known and loved by many in her community and church. She cared deeply for everyone and shared God’s love with many.
She had a delightful sense of humor, and we will miss her adventurous spirit, her kind heart, and playing cards with her around the big kitchen table.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Harold, parents Bert and Henrietta Gebben, and brother Howard Gebben. She is survived by her children: Nancy Beltman of Holland, Jim and Sue Beltman of Zeeland, Judy and Kurt Potter of Hudsonville, Sharon Beltman of Zeeland, and Carol and Mark Wieda of Wyoming. She was a loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jerene Steed of Zeeland.
Visitation for Alma will be Friday, April 1, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services in Holland. The funeral for Alma will be Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 11:00 am at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1015 E 32nd Street in Holland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crossroads Prison Ministry, an organization Alma supported through leading bible study and writing letters to incarcerated individuals for over 21 years.
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. I always enjoyed chatting with her and your dad in the restaurant. Prayers and Hugs for all.
