Joan Carroll, after fighting a battle with metastatic cancer, was received into the loving arms of Jesus on March 7, 2022, in the comfort of her home in Holland MI, surrounded by family.
She left behind a beautiful legacy of serving alongside her husband in the role of a Pastor’s wife. Always gracious and hospitable to the many people who entered her loving home. The front door was always open, the coffee pot on, or the kitchen table set with home-cooked meals for anyone who needed comfort or just a friendly smile. Her sense of humor never quit even when she had to endure so much pain in the end. Ask anyone who spent time with her, they will describe her as gracious, fun, loving, and wise.
Being a Pastor’s wife, she 100% supported dad, even when it required a move from their hometown of LaFollette, TN to Fort Worth, TX, Abbott, TX then later to Petaluma, CA where dad served in three separate churches. After retirement, they were able to fulfill their dream of moving back to Tennessee and building a home on “the Hill”.
She was preceded in death by her Husband: Bob Carroll, Parents: Henry Brooks and Juanita Graham, Stepbrother: Brooks Graham, and wife Flo, Brother-in-law: John Morelock, Parents-in-law: Theodore and Etta Carroll, Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law: Ray and Nean Wilson.
Joan is survived by her children and grandchildren, Susan and Garryl Roon (Brandon Roon, Samantha Roon) of Holland MI, Wes and Michelle Carroll (Patrick Carroll, Amanda Carroll) of Petaluma CA.; Sisters: Dorothy (Ed) Connor (Knoxville, TN) Margie (Don) Trowbridge (Chattanooga, TN) Linda Morelock (Greeneville, TN) Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law: John and Anne Patterson (Lake City, TN)
No local services are planned. Services are being planned for this summer in LaFollette, TN. with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
