OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 10, 2022) – Two women from Holland were injured in a two-vehicle crash between Holland and Grand Haven on Thursday evening.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Chris Koster, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the junction of US-31 and Port Sheldon Street around 5:15 PM. They discovered that a westbound vehicle, driven by a 49-year-old woman, apparently drove through a red light and was hit by a northbound vehicle that was crossing the intersection on a green light. The woman and her 52-year-old passenger were taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while the other driver, a 24-year-old Norton Shores man, was unhurt.
The crash caused both directions of US-31 at that point to be closed for 30 minutes due to clean up efforts. No names were disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
