NEW YORK, NY (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Red Wings escaped Madison Square Garden with a 3-2 shootout win over the New York Rangers Thursday night.
Thomas Greiss slowed down New York in regulation, overtime, and the shootout as he finished with 37 saves plus five more stops in the six-round shootout.
Pius Suter’s shootout goal secured the win for Detroit, which got goals in regulation from Dylan Larkin and Troy Stecher.
The Red Wings have won three of their last four games.
K’Andre Miller and Mika Zibanejad lit the lamp for the Rangers. The loss snaps a three-game winning streak for New York.
Detroit is off until next Wednesday when they host the Colorado Avalanche.
