Don was a member of Christ Memorial Church and served in Iwo Jima and Japan as a member of the US Navy during WWII. He retired from Kelvinator after 42 years, was a former member of the Vintage Car Club, a member of VFW Post 2144 in Holland, and was an avid University of Michigan fan. Most of all, he was a loving grandpa to his granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

Funeral services with Military Honors are planned for 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 22 at Christ Memorial Church, 595 Graafschap Road, Holland (use entrance C & D). Rev. John Kleinheksel will officiate. Burial will be in North Holland Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 5-8 pm Monday, February 21, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland.
