Hester grew up on her father’s farm in Bentheim and worked at Hamilton Farm Bureau for many years. She adored her grandchildren and was lovingly known as “Grandma Sweets” by them. Hester was a long-time member of Fourth Reformed Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; grandson, Brantly Speet; and siblings, Al Eding, Glenn Eding, and Julia Menken.
Hester is survived by her children, Allen (Renee) Speet, Warren (Lynae) Speet, Phil (Wendy) Speet, Chris (Troy) Wieling; grandchildren, Leah (Aren) Phillips, Zachary (Shauna) Speet, Jason (Anna) Speet, Michael Speet, Shelly Speet, and Paco Cavanaugh, Phillip (Katie) Speet, Megan Wieling, Rachel Wieling; 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Arlene Speet; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service is planned and burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland. Arrangements are by Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home and condolences may be left online at www.langelandsterenberg.com.
