ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 7, 2022) – The Zeeland City Council has some things to attend to on Monday night.
During the governing panel’s biweekly meeting, members will get the latest on the efforts to find a new director for the Howard Miller Library and Community Center. Heather Wood-Gramza submitted her letter of resignation last Monday, effective March 4th, to become the Michigan eLibrary Coordinator at the Library of Michigan. Applications are open through March 4th, with a recommendation of her replacement targeted for April. An interim director should be offered to council for consideration at the next meeting on February 21st.
In addition, there will be a public hearing ahead of a vote on a Class C liquor license request to serve on-side alcohol at StrEATS on South Elm Street. According to City Manager Tim Klunder in documents for tonight’s meeting agenda, the property is properly zoned for alcohol sales, city staff conducted an investigation of the applicant, and Klunder is recommending that Council endorse this license request and forward it to the state Liquor Control Commission for final approval.
The Zeeland City Council has a work-study session at 6 PM in chambers at Zeeland City Hall ahead of the 7 PM business meeting.
