Last night, Phillip Danault’s second goal of the game, coming with less than eight minutes left, broke a 2-2 tie, and the visiting Los Angeles Kings went on to beat the Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena, 5-3.
Meanwhile at the United Center, Cam Talbot stopped 30 shots as the visiting Minnesota Wild blanked the Blackhawks, 5-0.
The NHL now goes on its All-Star Break, highlighted by Saturday’s activities in Las Vegas. Both Detroit and Chicago returns to action next Wednesday evening, when the Wings are at Philadelphia to face the Flyers and the Hawks battle the Oilers in Edmonton.
