
Marvin De Young, age 91 of Zeeland, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jeanette; his children: Ed and Lisa De Young, Wayne and Beth De Young, Diane and John Mattila, and Bruce and Deb De Young; his daughter-in-law Von and Scott De Glopper; 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild: his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Cora Smith and August and Judy Hoekstra.
Marv was preceded in death by his son Dennis in 2008.
Marv served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a long-time member of Drenthe Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder. Marv was a farmer and worked at Keeler Brass for many years. In his retirement, Marv enjoyed volunteering at Bibles for Mexico. Marv was an avid hunter, even this past hunting season he shot 3 deer.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service will be 1 pm Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Drenthe Christian Reformed Church, 6344 Adams Street, Zeeland.
