HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 60-year-old Allendale man went by ambulance to Spectrum Health with arm, shoulder and head injuries after being hit by a car, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill.
Deputies, dispatched at 5:22 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, learn the man had been chasing his loose dog. When the dog ran onto Warner Street, near 64th Avenue, the man followed. Dill indicated the driver of a passing car was unable to avoid hitting the man. The driver stopped, called 911 and cared for the crash victim until police arrived. The driver was not physically injured in the crash, according to Dill.
Allendale Township firefighters and LIFE EMS provided on-scene support.
