Emma Barkel is now safe in the arms of her faithful Savior Jesus Christ, where her faith has been made sight. Emma was a member of Hamilton Christian Reformed Church and was formerly a member of the Holland Genealogical Society in Holland, Michigan. She retired at the age of 80 from Hart & Cooley. Emma loved and adored her family and spoke of them often to her puzzle buddies and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John Barkel Jr., her son Kirk Barkel, her parents and siblings. Surviving is her son John Barkel of Hamilton, daughter-in-law Pamela Barkel of Presque Isle, Michigan, and many nieces and nephews. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Hamilton. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
