Theron “Toby” Van Rhee, 93, of Royal Park Place in Zeeland, formerly of Drenthe, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 26, 2021.
Toby was born on January 9, 1928, to George and Anna Van Rhee. He married Janice Timmer on November 10, 1949, and she preceded him in death on October 29 of this year. He was a lifelong member of Drenthe Christian Reformed Church sharing his time and talents by being a deacon, elder, and Sunday school teacher. Toby also enjoyed serving his Drenthe Community and fellow farmers by serving on many committees over the years. He owned Al-Ott Farms in partnership with his nephew Gary Van Rhee and later Gary took over the farm.
He is survived by his daughter Laurie and Rick Cook of Zeeland, grandsons: Adam Cook, Timothy Cook, Mitchell, and Jena Cook; great-grandchildren Rhett and Sadie, sisters-in-law: Muriel and Del Arendsen, Esther and Mark Engle, Arlene Timmer and Pat Timmer, and many extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Drenthe Christian Reformed Church, 6344 Adams Street, Zeeland MI 49464.
Visitation will be 4-7 pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Interment will be in West Drenthe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons or Hospice of Holland. www.yntemafh.com
