Carl Wayne Potjer of Jenison, Michigan was received by his Lord and Savior on December 23, 2021, at 84 years old. He was born on August 21, 1937, to John & Lydia (Radaz) Potjer of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Carl attended Lee High School and graduated in 1955. On June 17, 1964, he married Mary Ruth Decker. He loved God, his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly and gave himself to serving them. He tirelessly cared for Mary in her later years and also served his country in the aftermath of the Korean war. He is survived by Eleanor & Wilbur Tyson, Pat (John) Potjer, Tom & Emily Potjer, Carol & Dick Waldner; in-laws Marilyn (Prof. Robert) Decker, Dori & Ken Hoksbergen, and Jim & Nancy Decker; and his four sons and their children: Mike & Teresa Potjer, Annika, Zachary, Cassandra, and Naomi; Steve & Beth Potjer, Lauren & Zachary Feenstra, Brad & Jenna Potjer, Austin & Lisa Potjer, Brooke, Charles, and Luke; Jeff & Sara Potjer, Heidi & Matt DeVries, Colleen, Caleb, Adam, and Laci; and Russ & Lisa Potjer, Isabella, Carter, Addison, and Calvin, and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary, his brother John & sister-in-law Linda Potjer, brother-in-law Professor Robert Decker, and four grandchildren Angela, Rochelle, Peter and Charity Potjer (Mike & Teresa Potjer).

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, at Georgetown Protestant Reformed Church, 7164 48th Ave., Hudsonville MI 49426. A memorial service will be held, also at Georgetown PRC Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 10 AM followed by a private interment in Georgetown Twp. Cemetery.
