Detroit has lost its last three games and sits in fifth place in the Atlantic Division with 29 points. New York enters action with 19 points and is in the basement of the Metropolitan Division.
The Red Wings have signed center Robby Fabbri to a three-year contract extension. The deal is worth around four million dollars per year.
Fabbri was acquired from St Louis by Detroit in 2019 and has eight goals with six assists in 28 games this season.
