HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland’s Board of Public Works issued a boil-water advisory for eight East 10th Street customers and one with a Waverly Avenue address, after a water main break Wednesday night.
The water main is repaired but the drop in pressure from the break may have allowed bacteria to enter the system. The boil-water advisory is in place on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, until water samples from the area confirm that the water is safe to consume.
Holland BPW identified the addresses affected as:
- 644 E. 10th St.
- 652 E. 10th St.
- 657 E 10th St.
- 658 E. 10th St.
- 661 E. 10th St.
- 664 E. 10th St.
- 665 E. 10th St.
- 673 E. 10th St.
- 244 Waverly Ave.
BPW notified those customers directly but officials are also advising anyone living in that area to boil water for two minutes before consuming, making ice, or brushing teeth. The water is safe to use for showering or bathing and does not need boiling for that.
