HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating several home invasions in Holland Township that appear to be related, according to Sheriff’s Capt. Jake Sparks.
The first incident, reported Oct. 23, 2021, has been followed by several similar crimes over the Thanksgiving weekend. Sparks indicated suspects have forced entry into unoccupied homes, stealing cash, jewelry, clothing and accessories, with the losses so far estimated at thousands of dollars.
The thieves appear to target restaurant owners while they are at work. The home invasions are happening during the day or early evening. So far, the thieves have not entered an occupied home, according to Sparks.
