HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The final two exhibits of the season for De Pree Art Center and Gallery at Hope College running Monday, Nov. 22, through Thursday, Dec. 9: the “Juried Student Show” and “Constructed Mysteries: Spirituality and Creative Practice.”
The shows ae open to the public and admission is free to the art center and gallery, 275 Columbia Ave., between 10th and 13th streets in Holland. Those who wish to see the exhibits must do so by appointment and can register online at hope.edu/depree.
The competitive juried student show is an annual fixture in the De Pree gallery. All Hope students can enter their work, which is judged each year by an artist or curator invited by the school’s Department of Art and Art History.
“Constructed Mysteries” features the work of 10 artists who depict issues of our day through the lens of faith. Artist, curator, writer and Bethel University Professor of Art Kenneth Steinbach is this year’s exhibition juror and curated the show with Bethel University Professor of Art and Gallery Director Michelle Westmark Wingard.

People visiting the De Pree Art Center and Gallery must follow COVID-19 prevention guidelines, including wearing a mask, while indoors on campus unless in their living space or alone in their workspace, according to school officials.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday but the De Pree will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 25 and 26, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
