ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A man charged with murder last year has received a life sentence.
Previously, police had arrested and charged Robert Eakins Jr. in the murder of Daniel Banaszak.
Banaszak was found dead in a home in the 500 block of 55th Street near 105th Avenue in Lee Township on the evening of August 6th, 2020.
Eakins was reportedly still at the residence when authorities arrived, and was taken into custody and booked into the Allegan County Jail.
According to an update from WOOD TV Monday, Eakins has now received a life sentence in this case.
A weapons-related charge also netted him an additional two years, but he received credit for time served.
