William “Bill” Kolean age 84, of Holland, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
He was a member of Maranatha Christian Reformed Church and spent his working life as a self-employed builder. Anyone who knew Bill knows he was a very humble man. Bill did take great pride and pleasure in his work, nothing but perfections would do. Many homes in the Holland area have been benefitted from the work of his talented hands. Bill served his Savior in quiet ways participating in service and mission projects while using his building talents.
Bill is survived by his children, Shannon and Gary Wolters, Jeff and Lori Kolean, Karen and Jim Michner, Jennifer and Jim Lemkuil, Margaret and Mike Haveman, Mark Ryzenga; grandchildren, Bill Wolters, Nicholas and Becca Wolters, Patrick Kolean, Andy Kolean, Matt Kolean, Tom Kolean, Madison Kolean, Christopher and Colleen Michner, Elijah Lemkuil, Grace and Jack Davis, Lily and Bryce Eggers, Faith Lemkuil, Ben Haveman, Sophie Haveman; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Eleanor Boeve, Dori VanderKooi; in-laws, , Ken and Marge Boeve, Helen and Peter Hart, John and Debra Steenwyk, Robert and Jane Steenwyk, Ed and Maureen Steenwyk, Diane Steenwyk, Larry Steenwyk, Laura Steenwyk, Debra Meyaard, Sandy and Jack VerMeeris, Calvin Steenwyk; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 918 Central Ave. Holland with Rev. Matthew J. Stob officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 12, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Resonate Global Mission.
