HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) –A 68-year-old Grand Haven woman had to be extricated from her car and went by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital after a traffic crash Tuesday morning, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s officials.
The two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of 144th Avenue and Silverbrook Drive in Grand Haven Township just after 7 a.m. Nov. 9, 2021.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill said the woman told crash investigators she had been east bound on Silverbook and stopped at the intersection before proceeding. Dill indicated she pulled into the path of a 2006 Mazda with an 18-year-old Grand Haven Township woman at the wheel.
Firefighters extricated the older woman from her car and found she’d suffered leg injuries.
The younger driver was not physically injured in the crash, which remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
Dill noted that, while a Grand Haven Area school bus had been stopped for student pickup when the crash happened, no students were hurt during this incident, and the bus was not involved in the crash.
NOCH EMS and Grand Haven Township firefighters assisted at the scene.
