Lois Victoria King, age 97, of Holland, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at American House Nursing Home.
Lois was born and raised in Athens, West Virginia. After earning a BS in education, Lois worked as a kindergarten teacher at Keppen Elementary in Lincoln Park, MI from 1952-1982. Her avocation was porcelain painting, which she continued throughout her life. She was a member of Michigan China Painting Teacher’s Organization, president of Michigan World Organization of China Painters, and a member of the International Porcelain Artists and Teachers. She exhibited her China painting in art galleries in Myrtle Beach, SC and Conway, SC.
Her family was of utmost importance to her. She also enjoyed nature and golfing with her husband for many years.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert “Bob” King; daughter, Rebecca (King) Young; son-in-law, Duane Young; and siblings: Rebecca Miller, Walter Perry, James Perry, Robert Perry, and Ramona Williams.
She is survived by her son, Robert Jeffery (Kathrine) King; grandchildren: Zeke, Darcy, and Kira; sister, Betty Duffey; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to honor Lois is being planned. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society. www.langelandsterenberg.com.
