GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Things could have gone much worse for a 33-year-old Marne man when the cement truck he was driving tipped over onto its side in an incident between Allendale and Hudsonville on Thursday (Oct. 28, 2021).
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael VanDenBosch, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to 36th Avenue just south of Fillmore Street around 12 Noon. “Investigation showed that the driver was traveling southbound when he went off of the paved portion of the roadway and onto the soft gravel shoulder,” VanDenBosch said in a department statement. “This caused the cement truck to go into the ditch and tip over. The driver was not injured; however, Georgetown Township firefighters were called to the scene due to a small liquid spill from the cement truck.”
The matter remains under investigation.
