HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – No injuries were initially reported as Holland Department of Public Safety firefighters put out a blaze in an apartment building on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2021.
According to Fire Captain Chris Tinney, crews were dispatched to a six-unit structure in the 1000 block of Abbey court at 1:36 PM. “The first units at the scene reported smoke visible from a second story apartment window,” Tinney said in a department statement. “They quickly extinguished a blaze that appears to have originated in the kitchen. Their rapid response limited smoke and heat damage to the apartment where the fire originated, thus saving the remainder of the building.”
No cause of the fire or any property loss estimates were initially made.
