GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 20-year-old Jenison woman was hospitalized and ticketed following a two-vehicle crash north of Hudsonville on Friday evening, Oct. 22, 2021.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Keith Biros, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to 40th Avenue and Acadia Drive around 7:30 PM.
“The investigation shows that the woman was eastbound on Acadia Drive in a sedan and pulled onto 40th Avenue, failing to yield to a northbound SUV, driven by a 43-year-old Alto man,” Biros said in a statement. “The SUV collided with the driver’s side area of the sedan, and the woman was pinned in the vehicle for a short time before Georgetown Township Fire/Rescue personnel could extricate her. 40th Avenue was closed down between Port Sheldon and Baldwin streets for approximately an hour during his incident.”
The woman was taken to what Biros would only say was a local hospital with “non-life threatening injuries.” The other driver was not hurt. No names were disclosed.
Biros added that, while alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident, the woman, “was found at fault and cited for failing to yield to the SUV who had the right of way.”
