DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Dr. Joneigh Khaldun is joining CVS Health as a vice president and chief health equity officer. She had been Michigan’s chief medical executive under Governor Whitmer until the end of September.
Khaldun announced her new job in a tweet Monday afternoon, saying there are things that bothered her over the last year and a half in her role.
“It’s just how much what somewhat simple public health measures that would keep people healthy, and quite frankly alive, have become so political.”
She remains an emergency room doctor in Detroit for Henry Ford Health Systems.
