Hazel Assink, age 96 of Holland, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021, at American House.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Herman in 2001, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Hazel leaves behind her children, Mary Assink, Randall Assink, Luann (Dave) DeFeyter, Bev (Chris) Assink, and Jeanne Steber. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Lisa (Brian) Brinks, Stephanie (Andy) Putman, Bryan (Trisha) Assink, Michelle (Russell) Bullock, David (Jamie) DeFeyter; and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Brinks, Nate Brinks, Abby Brinks, Andrew Putman, Dylan Putman, Samantha Assink, Isabelle Assink, Zachery Assink, Aubree Assink, Aqua Paauwe-Bullock, Edward Bullock, Eli DeFeyter, Ian DeFeyter, and Autumn DeFeyter. They were sure to put a smile on her face. She was also survived by her sisters, Ann (Elmer) DeWeerd, Marilyn Schepel, Joan Geurink; brother, Glen (Betty) Geurink; sisters-in-law, Alice Geurink, Dorothy Schrotenboer along with several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, October 10 from 2-4 pm at Dykstra Funeral Home – Northwood Chapel (295 Douglas Ave.) in Holland. A funeral service will be on Monday, October 11 at 11 am at Harlem Reformed Church with Rev. John Nyitray officiating.
