HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Holland’s annual signature event continues to evolve from the impact of not being held in 2020.
Tulip Time Festival officials announced on Thursday (Oct. 7, 2021) its entertainment lineup and exhibitions for the 92nd renewal from May 7th through the 15th, 2022. Sir Elton John tribute performer Elton Rohn is at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place on May 7th, while Fiddlefire (May 12th) and the Texas Tenors (May 13th) step out on stage at Central Wesleyan Church. Local performers include the high school Dazzle showcase on May 11th at Central Wesleyan Church and the Holland American Legion Band at Beechwood Church on May 14th.
Exhibitions feature presentations by Dutch photographer Rem van den Bosch and Dutch horticulturist Ibo Gulsen, while a Historical Walking Tour will also be staged. An Artisan Market and a Quilt Show will be at Beechwood Church, a Floral Arrangement Class is set for Huisman Flowers, and the Tulip Time Run returns on May 7th.
What may overshadow all of the above is the decision by the Festival to merge the traditional Wednesday Volksparade with the Saturday Muziekparade to one single promenade on Saturday, May 14th. “The Quality Car Wash Volksparade will be big and bold as Tulip Time combines elements of the Street Scrubbing parade and the Muziek parade,” Festival Executive Director Gwen Auwerda said in a statement. The Kinderparade is still scheduled for Thursday, May 12th.
Tickets for the entertainment programming go on sale on November 9th at the Festival office at 42 West 8th Street in Holland, as well as online.
