Tulip Time Announces Attractions, Trims Parades

HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Holland’s annual signature event continues to evolve from the impact of not being held in 2020.

Tulip Time Festival officials announced on Thursday (Oct. 7, 2021) its entertainment lineup and exhibitions for the 92^nd renewal from May 7^th through the 15^th, 2022. Sir Elton John tribute performer Elton Rohn is at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place on May 7^th, while Fiddlefire (May 12^th) and the Texas Tenors (May 13^th) step out on stage at Central Wesleyan Church. Local performers include the high school Dazzle showcase on May 11^th at Central Wesleyan Church and the Holland American Legion Band at Beechwood Church on May 14^th.

Exhibitions feature presentations by Dutch photographer Rem van den Bosch and Dutch horticulturist Ibo Gulsen, while a Historical Walking Tour will also be staged. An Artisan Market and a Quilt Show will be at Beechwood Church, a Floral Arrangement Class is set for Huisman Flowers, and the Tulip Time Run returns on May 7^th.

What may overshadow all of the above is the decision by the Festival to merge the traditional Wednesday Volksparade with the Saturday Muziekparade to one single promenade on Saturday, May 14^th. “The Quality Car Wash Volksparade will be big and bold as Tulip Time combines elements of the Street Scrubbing parade and the Muziek parade,” Festival Executive Director Gwen Auwerda said in a statement. The Kinderparade is still scheduled for Thursday, May 12^th.

Tickets for the entertainment programming go on sale on November 9^th at the Festival office at 42 West 8^th Street in Holland, as well as online.
