HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Beginning genealogists looking for tips on searching for their roots can get some free assistance at Herrick District Library on Saturday.
Genealogist Megan Heyl is set to lead a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at HDL’s main branch, 300 S. River Ave. in Holland, sharing free resources for genealogical research, such as apps, websites, libraries and databases during the library’s “If It’s Free, It’s For Me” program.
“This is for anybody who is interested in researching their family, especially those who want to know the details (good, bad or ugly) of their own ancestors,” said HDL librarian Mary VanderKooy. Community members who are interested in genealogy will be able to connect over a common interest.
No registration is required for this free event, set to happen in the library’s auditorium. Masks are required for all patrons older than two years, regardless of vaccination status, at all in-person events in the library.
