HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Marlena’s Bistro and Pizzeria reopened more than a week ago, on Sept. 21, 2021, as the owner promised earlier this year. But she’s scheduled a grand reopening and what she’s calling a signing event aimed at supporting several conservative political candidates, among them 80th District Rep. Mary Whiteford of Casco Township.
The 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. political rally Saturday will include speakers and petition signing. Drivers can expect some traffic issues on that stretch of Lincoln Avenue.
It’s unclear how this event will be reflected in the candidates respective campaign-finance filings.
The restaurant had been closed for six months, after owner Marlena Pavlos-Hackney repeatedly violated state rules for limiting the spread of COVID-19. A GoFundMe account set up to support her has raised more than $332,000, and continues to garner donations.
