DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers managed only five hits in a 2-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park Sunday afternoon. It was the final home series for the Tigers this season.
Isaac Paredes’ ninth-inning double drove in the only Detroit run. Wily Peralta gave up eight hits and two runs in four-and-two-thirds innings to pick up his fourth loss.
Before the game, the Tigers announced that outfielder Victor Reyes is going to miss the remainder of the season with a strained groin.
The Tigers send Matt Manning to the hill when they host the Chicago White Sox for a make-up game this afternoon. The opening pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
