Hubert “Butch” Lucarelli went to his heavenly home on Friday, September 17, 2021, surrounded by his wife and children.
Butch was born on July 15, 1940, to Hubert and Gladys (Olsen) Lucarelli in Iron Mountain MI, growing up in Kingsford MI. He was proud of his “Yooper” status and loved going back to visit and hunt in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He was employed at Hansen Machine for almost 40 years going from owner, Doc Hansen’s Assistant to an Owner. He retired in 1999. He and his wife, Loretta, were actively involved in the Holland Vintage Car Club, enjoying touring with one of their antique vehicles. He and Loretta spent many years involved with Our Lady of the Lake Church where they were founding members.
Butch and Loretta enjoyed spending their winters in FL at Southern Charms Resort. The rest of the year was spent at their home in Holland with many weekends at Ford Lake.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Gladys (Olsen) Lucarelli; his parents-in-law; Herman and Myrtle Stremler, his grandchildren; Johnathan Lucarelli and Sharon Lucarelli.
Butch is survived by his wife of 54 years, Loretta (Stremler) Lucarelli; his children Clysta (Jeff) Simancek of Irvine CA, Aleisa Lucarelli of Zeeland, Chris (Denise) Lucarelli of Holland, and Tracy Lucarelli of Zeeland.
He loved his grandchildren: Dimitrios Simancek, Samantha Senglaub, Mickie Ray, Shawna Lucarelli, Matthew (Katia) Lucarelli, Madison Lee, and Rachel Lee.
Butch is survived by his brother Dave (Barb) Lucarelli and sister-in-law Marcia (Benny) Kark, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 22, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, at Dykstra Funeral Home – Northwood Chapel. A funeral mass will take place Thursday, September 23, at 11:00, a.m, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 152nd Avenue, Holland. Visitation will take place from 10:00 – 10:45 prior to the service.
