HAMILTON, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The new school year is just beginning, and one Lakeshore district has already put out a notice about curtailing classes.
It’s not due to any COVID 19 health concerns that officials with Hamilton Community Schools issued this Facebook post on Tuesday (Aug. 24, 2021) evening: “Hamilton Community Schools will have a half day of school (Wednesday), Aug. 25, 2021. The heat and humidity are high and we need to avoid the heat of the day. Dismissals- HS-10:35 a.m., MS-10:45 a.m., and Elementary-11:45 a.m.”
Wednesday is the first scheduled day of classes in the district for Academic 2022.
According to the WHTC website on Tuesday evening, the Wednesday forecast for the Hamilton area is for scattered thunderstorms in the morning, and then partly cloudy late, with an afternoon high of 89, and humidity at 71%.
