HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — An 18-year-old Holland woman has been arrested after she fell asleep while driving and crashed her car into a Holland township home. No one was physically hurt.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill indicated she’d been driving south on Beeline Road, between James and Felch Streets, when she nodded off, just after 5:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2021.
Her car crashed into the side wall of a single family home’s attached garage.
Holland Township firefighters responded along with police, to evaluate the damage to the home and evaluate the safety of removing the car.
The driver is in Ottawa County Jail, awaiting charges for driving related offenses, Dill said, adding that alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash.
