HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Port Sheldon Road and 40th Avenue may have been the result of an impaired driver, according to hrs Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Koster.
Police learned a 62-year-old Kentwood man, driving west on Port Sheldon Road, failed to obey a red light and crashed into a car with a 40-year-old Ada woman at the wheel, sending that car into a third vehicle, which had a 64-year-old Hudsonville resident at the wheel. The crash happened just after 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021.
The Ada woman’s car had three passengers: another adult women as well as a 9-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl, according to police. The two adults in that car were treated at the scene and released, according to Koster.
Alcohol and drugs are suspected factors in this crash, according to police.
