David Lee Wehrmeyer, age 80 of Holland, passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
Dave was born July 7, 1941, in Holland to John and Fenna (Slenk) Wehrmeyer. Dave graduated from Holland High School (class of 1959) and worked as a Lab Chemist for Parke Davis, Warner-Lambert, and eventually Pfizer. He married Gayle (Steketee) in 1961.
Dave was an avid golfer, a former board member of the Holland Country Club, manager for the Ottawa County Fair for many years, and a member of Calvary Church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Patricia VanderSchel. Dave is survived by his wife Gayle of 59 years; son Todd (Jan) Wehrmeyer and their children John, Nick, and Maggie; daughter Jodie (Dean) Ferrell, and their son Adam (Margaret) Assink; sisters Mary (Dick) Hilbink, Joanne Green, Judi (Tim) Snow; nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Dave’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Calvary Reformed Church, 995 E. 8th St., Holland. Rev. Ron Beyer will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, August 16 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland.
