HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Holland Board of Public Works holds its board meeting this coming Monday (Aug. 9, 2021).
Among the items to be discussed in the 5 PM session at the utility’s Hastings Avenue offices is a recommendation for the board to approve a $2.3 million contract with Milbocker & Sons for the reconstruction of Country Club Road, from East 8th Street to Legion Park Drive. Done in conjunction with the City of Holland’s Transportation Department, the project would not only rebuild the roadway, but also replace a nearly 60-year-old cast iron water main that has had 15 recorded breaks over that time, including three in the past month. Large improvements to the open ditch storm water drainage system in that area are also part of the project. Milbocker’s bid was the lowest of two firms seeking the contract.
The BPW Board is also expected to elect a new chair and vice chair, along with appointing a second member to serve on the audit committee, during this meeting. A link to the agenda for this session is here.
