UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – It was a very limited Election Day on Tuesday (Aug. 3, 2021).
Two mayor races, two school millage renewal requests, and two municipal millage renewal requests were on the ballot for voters in Allegan and Ottawa counties.
Saugatuck Township voters approved a Cemetery Renewal request by a margin of 450-190, while voters in Saugatuck, Douglas and Saugatuck Township OK’d a library millage renewal request by a margin of 809-331.
The Hopkins and Martin school districts had 18-mill non-homestead levies approved by margins of 591-278 for Hopkins and 240-118 for Martin.
One South Haven precinct in Allegan County cast votes for mayor; Scott Smith was tops overall in the city at 459, followed by Ahmmad Goodwin at 144 and Tim Stegeman at 99.
In Grand Haven, the city council race went this way: Karen Lowe 1,189, Kevin McLaughlin 931, Mike Dora 807, Dennis Scott 546, and Timothy Deiters 288.
Among trustees for the Grand Haven Board of Light and Power, the race went this way: Andrea Hendrick 1,202, Michael Westbrook 718, Andy Cawthon 618, Geri McCaleb 607, and Dale Reenders 491.
Municipalities across Michigan are slated to hold General Elections on November 2nd.
