Jeanette Olbrich, age 91 of Holland, was received into the loving arms of Jesus, her friend, on July 20, 2021. Jeanette was born in Holland, Michigan on October 29, 1929. At six weeks old, her mother tragically passed away at the age of 26. Jeanette went to live with a local family in Zeeland, but at two years of age, her father took her and her siblings to live in Nordhorn, Germany.
In Germany, Jeanette met and fell in love with Gunther Olbrich, who she would go on to be married to for 60 years. She and Gunther welcomed a little girl into their family, Gundi, before moving back to Holland, Michigan. In Holland, their family would add two more little girls to their family, Lorelle, and Ingrid. In Holland, Jeanette worked at DuMond Bakery, H.J. Heinz, and General Electric, where she would retire in 1990. In her younger years, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and was more recently a fan of word search puzzles, keeping her mind sharp.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gunther, siblings Fred Holthuis, Heini Holthuis, and Minnie Quakkelaar, and son-in-law Alan Tremain. She is survived by her children: Gundi and Dick Boeve, Lorelle and Raul Ortiz, Ingrid Tremain; Grandchildren Jennifer and Joel Geerlings, Kerri Boeve, Ryan Ortiz, Kelly Ortiz; Great-grandchildren Kayla Geerlings and Elise Geerlings; Siblings Adele Mulder, Henry, and Deb Holthuis; Many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Reformed Church in Holland. The family will greet visitors an hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland or Resthaven Care Center.
