Randall “Randy” Essenburg, age 70, of Holland, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021.
Randy was born in Holland, Michigan to James and Geneva Essenburg on October 7, 1950. He attended Zeeland Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1968. After high school, Mr. Essenburg started working in the upholstery business, and eventually, he opened up J.N.R. Upholstery and remained in business until retirement. Mr. Essenburg was committed to serving his clients with quality work and low prices. He was also a family man. Randy met the love of his life, Mrs. Jo Ann (Hoffman) Essenburg during a car cruise downtown Holland and together they enjoyed over 50 wonderful years of marriage. Randy was a man of many hobbies which included reading, fishing, hunting, camping, watching Nascar races, playing cribbage, and coaching softball. He was known for his storytelling, generosity, great sense of humor, and a special ability to get along with anyone he crossed paths with. Randy was loved by everyone that knew him and he will truly be missed.
Mr. Essenburg is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann; daughters, Brenda (Ben) Sientz, Cindy (Gary) Wendlowsky; grandchildren, Monica (Mike) Smith, Heather (Kyle) Parsley, Katie Wedlowsky, Mary Wedlowsky, Tim Wedlowsky, Joe Wedlowsky, Markie (Justin) Westhouse, and Bryce Wedlowsky; siblings, Jim Essenburg, Marge (Ed) Driesenga, Sue (Tim) Wilson, Deb (Rog) Arrendson and Karen Woodstra.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents James and Geneva; daughter, Lisa James Stevens; sister, Ann Overkamp.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804.
