HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – An advocacy agency for immigrants along the Lakeshore is growing.
In a statement issued on Wednesday (July 21, 2021), Lighthouse Immigrants Advocates announced three new staff additions “to support the growing community demand for immigration legal services.” Among those coming on board to this six-year-old organization is David Lee, who is moving over from Community Action House to become the LIA’s Development and Communications Officer. Other newcomers include Staff Attorney David Aleman Morales and Iliana Ponce as Administrative Assistant.
“The growth that LIA has experienced in the past year speaks to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as to the critical need for high-quality, low-cost immigration services in West Michigan,” Executive Director Eva Alexander is quoted in an agency statement.
According to the LIA mission statement, the non-profit agency “is a trusted source of legal representative and advocacy” for the West Michigan immigrant and refugee community, seeking to bring social and economic stability to local communities.
