HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland police are investigating an early morning armed robbery that happened in the 100 block of Eighth Street. No one was hurt, according to police.
Holland Police Capt. Robert Buursma said police were called after a resident, who had posted shoes for sale on social media, met with the prospective buyer in a vacant parking lot. But three people were in the vehicle that arrived, Buursma said, adding that they told the victim they wouldn’t pay for the shoes. One of the suspects brandished a handgun, threatening the victim according to Buursma.
That’s when the victim fled the scene, leaving behind the shoes he’d been trying to sell, according to police.
He later described the suspects’ car as a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Cadillac. The suspects are described as follows: three men, possibly Black, wearing dark clothing. Two were estimated to be in their 20s, according to Buursma. One for a black Nike track suit with a hoodie; the other two work dark clothing, and only one brandished a handgun.
Buursma says anyone who has information on this incident is asked to contact the Holland Department of Public Safety at (616) 355-1150 or email investigators at policetips@cityofholland.com.
