UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – At Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game in Denver last night, this is what happened to the Detroit & Chicago contingent in the annual mid-summer classic: Tigers reliever Gregory Soto gave up a solo homer to JR Realmuto in his single inning of work; White Sox pitcher Lance Lynn walked one and struck out one in his single inning of work; White Sox pitcher Liam Hendricks allowed two hits with one strikeout in pitching the ninth inning for the save in the American League’s 6-2 triumph; White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was a defensive replacement and did not bat; White Sox pitcher Carlos Rodon did not play; Cubs outfielder Kris Bryant went 0-for-2 at the plate with one strikeout; and Cubs reliever Craig Kimbrel allowed one hit in two-thirds of an inning of work.
Although Major League Baseball resumes play tomorrow evening with the New York Yankees home to the Boston Red Sox, regular season action for the other 28 teams after Tuesday’s All-Star Game break begins on Friday, as the Tigers host the Minnesota Twins in a day-night doubleheader at Comerica Park, with broadcast times at 1:45 PM and 6:45 PM on 99 7/1450 WHTC, while the Cubs are in Phoenix to take on the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the White Sox entertain the Houston Astros at Guaranteed Rate Field

A wild pitch by reliever Bryce Tassin in the seventh inning plated the tie-breaking run as his West Michigan Whitecaps fell to the visiting Fort Wayne TinCaps last night, 6-2. The series at LMCU Ballpark in Comstock Park continues this evening.
